Weekend update

Saturday I was a machine! Sunday I was a lump.  Let's look back. Saturday in the balmy 45 degree weather, I dragged everyone out into the garage to help me move stuff so I could shoehorn my van in there. The doors open, but just barely. Whatever. No more scraping layers of ice for 10 minutes before I can even get in to drive! Their reward for all that hard work? Lots of delicious eats! Mushroom Barley soup. Some had lamb with theirs. Ewww.

And my new favorite dish (and Brian's) Pasta Fagioli. It will now be in regular rotation. I made it with mini cheese raviolis instead of ditalini. We liked it better & its more filling I think.  No pictures, sorry! Next time, I promise.

I also had a new food item-panettone.

I know, who doesn't have panettone in an Italian household? Well obviously me. Apparently, we would pick & choose our traditions. Anyway, I made the big mistake of making french toast with it. Giada did it so I thought it must be a great idea. Sadly, it was not. I wasted the rest of the delicious Panettone. Sad, but when the blizzard's over, I'm running right out to get more! It will be the perfect Christmas morning breakfast.

Sunday I lounged about in my new favorite house outfit: leggings, long sleeve T, big wrap sweater & slipper socks. Its like I'm dressed, but in jammies-brilliant! (I may or may not still be waring it.) SIL came over and we caught up on a couple of episodes of Dexter. We are SO behind-we need a marathon day!

Lastly, this morning the kids got the exciting news that school was canceled. So if I don't have to go to the office-we just may bake some cookies. If you're here in Cleveland, stay warm! Everyone else-I hope you get a snow day too!
