There's a reason I don't bake...

They look harmless don't they? Maybe even...good.

Well, you would be wrong. While there's nothing specifically wrong with the chocolate ones, they're just not all that great. I followed the recipe, I just can't bake anymore. I used to be quite the baker back around 1990 when I was 17. I could create all sorts of fun goodies. It seems that talent left me as soon as I gave birth. Coincidence?

Anyway, yesterday we had a snow day, so BabyGirl & I decided to bake up some Christmas cookies. The Chocolate Candy Cane Kiss cookies that have been making their rounds around the blog world seemed perfect. As I said, they turned out just fine, the kids are eating them.

Then I set my sites on Tina's Salted Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. I bet they're delicious. I really wouldn't know. Why, you ask? Well, see BabyGirl working hard here?
She's crushing dried rosemary for me for dinner the other night. See where I'm going with this?
I use my mortar & pestle to smash walnuts. Yes, the same walnuts for the cookies. DUH! Concrete holds flavors surprisingly well. So do crushed walnuts.
Anyone want some rosemary oatmeal chocolate chip cookies?
