Let's take a break from the lectures and check out some pictures, shall we?
The campus was beautiful. Being out in the middle of nowhere, you're surrounded by trees and peacefulness.
This is the main entrance to the Living Learning Center where we stayed. Our dorm rooms and the main classrooms for our lectures were in this building.
The auditorium is where the plenaries were held & where the movie (we skipped) was shown.
Saturday we went off to explore downtown Johnstown. Their downtown seems to be a pretty depressed area since the steel mills are closed, but its still surrounded by beauty. Its actually quite a historic place. Did you know most the movie All the Right Moves was filmed there? Of course Brian did. All these movies were too!
From Wikipedia: Johnstown, settled in 1770, is perhaps most famous for its three floods which may have caused the decline in population and the reason to attract newcomers. The "Great Flood" of May 31, 1889 occurred after the South Fork Dam collapsed 14.1 miles (23 km) upstream from the city during heavy rains. At least 2,209 people died as a result of the flood and subsequent fire that raged through the debris. Other major floods occurred in 1936 and 1977.
The coolest thing we found was the Inclined Plane. It was built in 1891! I guess it still hauls cars up & down. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous on that thing.
One car goes up while one goes down, I assume its some sort of counterweight thing, but I have no idea how that works when there's a car in one of them.
The cars were built in Cleveland!
Now, the view is amazing, I know, but let's talk about this little fence. That's all there is! It doesn't even go all the way to the ground. So if your kid is having a tantrum & escapes from your grasp & decides to slide under the fence, that's it-its all over. So as you can imagine I was a bit freaked out for all the kids on board. I'm know, I'm a freak.

When we reached the top, we found a nice neighborhood with really nice houses. But that was it for our exploring, I had a lecture to get to, so we went back to campus. But it was certainly fun to check out the town and read about its history.
