food for thought...

I found this on pinterest (& immediately lost it!) after reading veggiegirl's fabulous post & commenting about the 'new' blogworld.

'i often think about how human action is becoming less about living and more about the portrayal of that living. with social media, friends family & coworkers can follow every action you make, and it is hard not to think of their impressions of you as you post pictures, update statuses and let others comment....which leads me to a question i am afraid to answer: with the rise of social media, will we ever be prompted to truly live our lives as we want, or will our actions always be spurred in some way or another by the perception of others? will the beauty of life's imperfections slowly give way to the carefully orchestrated lives of perfection people want to portray?'
