Progress, not Perfection

I think that motto is a great one. We can be too hard on ourselves for lots of things: work, parenting, dietary habits.

Progress, not Perfection cuts you a little slack.

Example: While watching House last night with Brian, I had a sudden overwhelming craving for a sandwich. A sandwich with soft white bread, mayonnaise, lots of iceberg lettuce, a thick slice of tomato & a slice of american cheese. He offered to go to the store (LOVE him!), but it was 10:00 at night, so I stuffed the craving down & went to bed.

Today at the grocery store, I bought all of the supplies, the only things I made 'healthier' were the bread-whole grain white & 'organic' cheese slices.  I didn't even put away the groceries. The first thing I did was make my sandwich.

Sometimes you just have to give in-and I have to say, it was the best sandwich I've had in years!
