Its almost here!

Yesterday, I stopped pretending that Christmas was not a few days away and got down to business. I scrubbed the downstairs kitchen within an inch of its life. I did laundry non-stop for 9 hours (which by the way seems like it should be a lot more finished laundry!) I cleaned the upstairs kitchen & relocated the gingerbread village for the 3rd and last time. I finally put out the rest of the decorations. And possibly the most important thing of all- I planned the food. I'm shopping today since I'm busy tomorrow. I'm sure the stores aren't crazy at all! (sarcasm if you missed it, maybe I should take a flask)

Anyway, the food looks like this:

Christmas Eve:
Chicken Paprikash over egg noodles (I've never made this-I hope I don't screw it up!)

Our family tradition for this night is staying in and watching It's a Wonderful Life in our new waiting for Santa jammies. Just us. We cook up something fun and relax by the fire.

Christmas Day:
Beef Tenderloin sandwiches w/ Mustard Horseradish sauce
French Onion Soup
Roasted potatoes & veggies
Poached Salmon w/ dill sauce
Broccoli Mac & Cheese

Shrimp & cocktail sauce
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Veggie Tray with Dip
Anti-pasta platter (maybe)
assorted nuts (maybe)

Christmas Day is going to be a open house buffet kind of thing. That's why there's so much 'disjointed' looking food-I know, it looks like 2 different meals. Its mostly because I can't be without my poached salmon. I wanted lots to snack on & tenderloin sandwiches are little, so its not too much.

As for a dessert I may make an icebox cake, but I'm not really sure yet. I may just buy some cookies, since I don't bake and all. But then again, Jenna posted something delicious looking today. Again, we'll see.

I may not be back until after Christmas, but I made you a little something.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU & YOURS!
