Sister Weekend!

I had such a great weekend-I spent an extraordinary amount of time with my sister. Friday it started with a 'spooky walk' and a midnight movie. I learned about it here
Friday, October 1st and Saturday, October 2nd from 6-9pm (last tour departs at 8:45) Tours depart from Parish Hall every 15 minutes beginning at 6pm Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and ends with refreshments and entertainment at the Gordon Square Atrium. $5 Admission for adults - Children 15 and younger are admitted Free

Neighborhood residents with lanterns in their hands and facts and folklore in their heads lead tour groups through the Franklin-West Clinton Historical District. As they walk, they encounter actors from the Near West Theater performing historic and entertaining scenes in front yards and on porches.

After our walk, we wandered over to Stone Mad for a glass of wine while waiting for the midnight movie to start.
Its the first anniversary of the Capitol Theatre-such a great place to see a movie!
We had cake & signed up for their email list-they have lots of cool events.
On October 16th they are having a horror movie fest that lasts from 10 PM to 10 AM.
Not sure I could hang-but how fun-if you like that sort of thing!
Neither my sister or I had ever seen The Phantom of the Opera. Or seen a silent movie. Or been to a midnight show! Geez. We both nodded off a couple of times, but made it to the end. The movie was great! Then we drove home in the freezing cold, put on jammies & went straight to sleep!

The next morning, we lounged around with coffee & October magazines. Then we jumped in the car to go to Pettiti's to check out their autumn & Halloween displays.
I have to say-Gale's blows them away! We did some random shopping & went our separate ways to go home to get ready for our friend's birthday dinner.
My MIL had the kids-so Brian & I were having a date night for the birthday dinner. Dinner was at Hibachi Steak House-which I love! Our friend Debbie is turning 50 tomorrow! We've known her for 23 years! Her daughter got her a trip to Hawaii!
We had a great time. It was freezing when we left, so Brian & I stopped to get more wood for a fire. Then we thought we should hang out & watch a movie in front of the fire & maybe sleep there!
Which was great until I woke up freezing & all stiff. But it was still fun!

Sunday, I got up and met my sister at the IX Center for the annual Women's Show. We go every year & load up on free samples & free fun stuff! We also got to see some hot half naked firemen, but that was just a bonus. We ran a couple more errands & ended on a high note:
These are our sister rings. They are engraved with 'sisters forever' on the inside. I know, we are dorks. I don't care-we think they're awesome!

I hope your weekend was as great as mine!
