Last night I tried to plug in my phone to charge it before bed, but I couldn't get the USB to plug in. This is my phone.
I used to have this phone (& actually still have of course)

Brian upgraded me because I kind of broke the black one. I drop my phone A LOT. The red one is fancier with a touch screen. Which only works for me sometimes. I kind of hate this phone-but its fine & serves its purpose.
Anyway I got up this morning to go to the Sprint store with the repair center in it. I gave it to an employee & she took it to the 'repair area' behind closed doors. She came back out to tell me that something was bent and/or stuck in there-they can't fix it, but, 'Good news-you have insurance!' Um, she looked at it for about 30 seconds-did she even try?
So I would have to file an insurance claim, pay them the $50 (!!) deductible & they would overnight me a new phone to use while mine was being fixed. An empty phone of course. Great, how many phone numbers do you think I have memorized? Yeah, about 4.
I said, can you just activate my black phone again and I can think about it. She said she could but then I couldn't file insurance on the red one because 'they would be confused'. Uh, huh.
When I don't know what to do, I do nothing & it has served me well, so I gathered up my phones & told her I would give it some thought.
As I sat at my desk weighing my options, I opened up the little rubber door that protects that USB & had a look. It didn't seem too bad. There looked to be a little metal prong or something that looked out of place. So I did what any resourceful gal does and grabbed a paper clip. I moved it around a bit and kind of put that little prong back in place. Then I grabbed my charger and shoved it in there kind of forcefully. Then, amazingly, the little bars started moving! It was charging! Hallelujah! Take that Sprint!
Is there anything paper clips & duct tape can't fix?
