Drinkable yogurt

Since I love yogurt, I was excited to taste test & review Organic Valley's new drinkable yogurt. Since this is my first review, I should let you know that I received these for free, but I will give my honest opinion of them. They also sent me a little recipe booklet with some yummy looking recipes I will have to try.

I bought all three flavors-plain, vanilla & berry. They also sent a few coupons for any other Organic Valley products. Guess what I chose-that's right-cheese. They have a raw cheddar that's delicious!

I usually buy Lifeway Kefir and my kids pretty much drink it right from the bottle. I assumed this product would be no different. I was right.

I like Organic Valley's award winning products and buy them pretty often. I feel organics are important, especially dairy. I do not want my daughter (or sons) filled with unnecessary hormones, drugs and chemicals, so I've been on the organic wagon for quite a while now. This brand is also readily available at most of the stores I shop at, so its convenient.
Anyway, on to the review! I found these at Heinen's, but not at Giant Eagle. They retail there for $4.69 each. The first one I tried was the berry flavor straight from the bottle. I like to try things in their 'natural state' before combining them with other ingredients. My first impression was a good one. I like it. I'm not sure you even need to do anything else with it. I decided to use it in the easiest way-a smoothie. The berry flavor is actually like a smoothie on its own, but I added a few things to kick it up a notch.
Verdict? It was good-I wish I had spinach though.
I also made another smoothie with the plain flavor with just berries & Amazing Grass chocolate powder. It was equally as delicious!

Lastly, I tried the vanilla in a different way. I used it to make these brownies.
They were great. The yogurt was perfect, but I don't think I would use the more expensive drinkable yogurt just to make brownies.

So, the drinkable yogurt is a good choice for smoothies I think & the berry flavor is perfect straight from the bottle when you're too lazy to clean the blender! I would love to see little 8 oz. individual bottles for kids' lunches. Or for me to take in the car while running around.
Thanks to Organic Valley for my very first review products!
