Friday night started with with wine & a movie with the girls. In retrospect wine at the theater is a great idea if you only have one-not 4. Just sayin'. Anywho, we saw SATC2 of course. It was fun, I didn't have high expectations, so it was as I thought it would be. Then we walked down to La Boca & sat on their patio. I ordered a glass of Gewurztraminer & Sue & Kristen had the pick your own fruit white sangria. I had a taste-SO good. Diane had a merlot, I believe. Sue & I decided to split entrees. She got the mussels and I got the eggplant with goat cheese. I didn't care for the mussels-they had chorizo in the broth, so none for me. But I LOVED the eggplant. It was like a lasagna with baked tomato sauce & goat cheese between the eggplant layers. I fully intend to go back & have that again very soon! This picture is so awful-I really need to learn to use this camera! You get the idea, right?
Sue & Kristen won T-shirts from the Three Olive girls!
I'd also like to say THANK YOU to Brian for not only dropping Diane & me off at the theater, but also coming to pick us up downtown (much later)! Honey, you rock!
Saturday morning, I got up and took BabyGirl to the Farmer's Market with me. Here's my score:
The best cheese! Grass- fed Baby Swiss. Its pretty tangy-I love it. So do BabyGirl & D, so I have to hide it or they'll eat it all!
Eggs.
Look at the colors!
The guy at this stand below sold me some sort of greens that he said I could sub for spinach. I cannot remember what they are called-I think Lamb is in the name. I tasted a leaf & it was so different, I had to buy a bunch. I also got radishes, green onions & garlic tops (?)
Then we ran through Trader Joe's & got some random stuff-frozen berries, avocados, OJ. I also got these for the kids' lunches. How fun do these look? I also bought the apple carrot flavor.
And lastly, raw organic honey. The stands at the market don't have any raw honey like last year, so I was excited to find it at Trader Joe's.
This weekend was also our city's Relay for Life.
D and his friends had a booth to raise funds & being the philanthropist that he is, he went the extra mile.
From there we went to Crocker Park.
It was a beautiful day! I love the food stands they have in the middle, so you don't have to sit inside a restaurant. A picnic would be nice, too.
Bubba had Auntie Anne's
BabyGirl-pizza
Brian had a meatball sub
I had cavatelli
They have recycling now!
And finally frozen yogurt
a little Mona Lisa
Some turtles
They also have live music
We went to the book store.
Its so cute there.
Then we went home & watched another episode of Life and we all fell asleep!
Sunday I started my day with this:
It did little to make me feel better about the state of the backyard!
Brian hung my new clock/thermometer/wind chime (its a lot going on, I know)
The kids were begging for Subway for dinner, so Subway it was! And dancing of course.
They all slept in the tent & I went to bed at 10:30-I was exhausted from all the work in the sun! Next up-Memorial Day cookout!
