This guy right here. If he hadn't have gotten so fat over the winter-I might not feel obligated to walk him so many miles (almost) everyday.
Have you ever used the pedometer by Google? This thing is so cool-if you don't have a Garmin, that is. Which I don't. I really don't need one. This works just fine for me. I helps me track how long I walk when I take (fattie) Stewie on a walk. I'm sure its not exactly accurate for calorie burn, but good enough. I love Google!
Next up~my beloved blender! I bought my Blendtec at Costco during a 'show'. It came with an extended warranty so that sold me. I was going to get the VitaMix since they are based in the city I grew up in, but Blendtec beat them to it. This thing is so bad ass. I mean you can do anything with it! Soups, ice cream, flour, nut butters, dips, etc. And of course, my favorite-green smoothies. A 'good' blender can be around $100, so why not spend a couple more & get the cadillac of blenders! By the way, I do want to go on a VitaMix tour of the facility someday, if they have those. They just expanded, which incidentally happened to take out a house at which I spent many evenings of my youth, let's just call it 'hanging out'. I was very sad to see it gone!
When I'm doing stuff around the house, I sometimes put on TV in the background. If its not Food Network, its QVC. I know, I am a loser! But honestly they have some really cool stuff! For example, my Pilates reformer. I have been using this thing faithfully for about 2 months & I honestly can say I see impressive results. I have more definition in my arms & maybe my legs. Now if only my abs would appear, I would be happy. But all things in time, right? And at right around $300, I can work out in my pajamas before I shower for work. Not bad. Especially when its blizzarding or 100 degrees outside!
Sorry this picture is so crappy! Follow the link for the real picture.
Is it weird to love an appliance that really does very little? Of course, the refrigerator is extremely important, but seriously I LOVE my new one. And it was (relatively) cheap-which makes me so very happy! Just look at it! Again, Costco, which is really a 'health helper' itself.
When I need to lose a bit of weight, I count calories. The Self magazine website has a cool tool to track food, exercise, weight and all of my health goals. Self Diet Club. Also, its free if you subscribe. Which I do.
PaperbackSwap.com. I signed up for this cool site & have since acquired many books, cooking, health & fiction (for mental happiness). It really is very cool & has saved me tons of money!
And the latest (mental) health helper is my genius son putting up the old worn out gates so the dogs can't get out & I can still have the doors open! Until the fence is up, this works for me.
