Soylent Green is a 1973 American science fiction film depicting a dystopian future suffering from pollution, overpopulation, dying oceans and a hot climate due to the greenhouse effect. Depleted resources lead to widespread unemployment and poverty. Real fruit, vegetables and meat are rare, expensive commodities, and much of the population survives on processed food rations, including "soylent green" wafers.
I won't give away the ending, but its pretty messed up! Oh and by the way, the year the movie takes place is 2022. Only 12 years from now!
