A day in the Life

I just saw this on someone's blog & thought "What a fun idea!". So, here it is. A day in my life. Today.

9 AM~Brian wakes me up. The kids leave early, so they are already gone. He has the morning shift, I get the afternoon/evening. I get my coffee & sit at my desk. I can be here 1 hour or 8, it depends on the day. I open my emails-work & personal. I always check out my calendar. I live & breathe by this thing. Work comes first, I take care of anything I need to & then go to my personal. After I go thru those, I open my Google reader & catch up on my blog reading. If I have to leave for work, I can finish these later, either at the office or later at home. I always have an eye on my work email. Almost obsessively one might think. Today, I think I'll be home for a bit. But I do need to go to the office & the bank.

9:50~schedule haircut & color with my hair girl-use the code they emailed me to get my haircut FREE! Ladies, you know what a savings that is! And since I'm getting all over color, its less money than highlights-yes! I haven't had my hair cut since February 8th! Holy cow! Stewie wakes up & needs to go out. I need more coffee. I also just got my Vitamin D level & cholesterol checked. Low on Vitamin D. Don't forget to take yours too!

10~Stewie gets his treat & goes back to bed in his bed. Instead of under my chair which is good because he stinks for some reason. I resume working/reading blogs.

10:02~Think about tonight's dinner. Spaghetti-easy. That'll take about 15 minutes to throw together. Maybe I'll make a salad.

10:08~There's something very wrong with my laptop-its moving super slow. I'm scared!

10:30~My girlfriend calls to work out our plans for our fun day on Saturday. So excited! Immediately after, my MIL calls. Then my Grandma. And then my sister. Geez.

11:10~ Send a support text to my friend who's getting quitting smoking treatment today. Its the same one I did to quit, so I'm excited for her!

11:20~Get the mail. Nothing fun. Work is all caught up. Can finally shower!

11:40~Stewie needs out again before I leave. Can't find my leopard flats. Story of my life.
11:46~Makeup & hair is (kind of) done. Put Stewie in his crate. Gather my stuff & out the door.
11:50~Run into bank & make myself a cup of coffee while there. Its small.
12:05~ Try not to spill it as I drive. Get angry at the old lady in front of me who is driving SO SLOW! Grrrr!
12:10~ Get to the office. Lots of work to do! Realize camera battery is quite low.

12:53~Hunger strikes. 2 prunes & a handful of raw almonds. No. I don't eat breakfast or lunch. But when I get home-look out! I know-its not the most normal eating schedule, but its worked for me for 20 some years. The thought of eating in the morning makes me ill!
1:00~Almost choke to death on almonds-make myself some green & chamomile tea.

2:46~Got great news! Check out my new badge over on the right!

Wow, I hope I can live up to this!

3:05~Get so caught up in my excitement, I leave late to get the kids! Fly out of work, get frustrated by the obese man crossing the street very slowly. Try to enjoy the trees for the rest of the drive.
3:12~Get home & turn laptop back on & sit down to check any work emails I missed during the drive. Yes, all 6 minutes of it!

3:15~Get kids ready for their homework.

3:20~Get some bad news that negates my happiness over my blog news. :(

3:30~Argue with Bubba about doing homework. This happens most everyday, by the way. Argue with BabyGirl over her snack. This too happens just about everyday.

3:33~Take a conference call that lasts until 4:10. Fun stuff.

4:10~Get some good news relating to work.

4:39~Realize I'm kind of tired-afternoon slump has arrived! Also realize I need to plug in my camera before it totally dies.

4:41~Wish D would go to another room to watch TV. I hate when the TV is on while I'm at my desk. It annoys me! Ask him when he's going to take the giant chair box out to the garage. Its been 2 days now. (I know, I could do it, but then what would he do?)

4:46~Wander into the kitchen thinking I may need food. Look around & think to myself the thought of food isn't all that appealing right now. Hope I'm not getting sick again, but realize its probably stress.

4:50~Try to watch a video online. Um, not gonna happen any time soon. Decide to defrag this laptop after 5 when I'm officially off the clock. Will check my email from my phone-just in case. What? I'm not obsessed.

5:00~Sign off work email & start trying to fix my computer! Run defrag & Crap Cleaner programs. Did you know you can still go online while your computer's defragging? Well, you can. Somehow I think that shouldn't happen. But what do I know?

5:15~Eat some crackers with dip. Load dishwasher since I was too lazy last night. D asks me for the third time in 2 hours what's for dinner.

5:30~Make a note to find dry erase magnet (on which I used to write the weekly meal schedule). Revamp it & hang it in a new space. Brian's home. We talk for a bit while the kids watch TV.

6:00~Time to start dinner. Discover lack of meatballs for the kids. Ooops. Decide not to tell them until they ask.

6:30~Time to eat! Last night I told the family about the new cards I ordered-Table Topics. Everyone's really excited about them & can't wait till they get here. Then my camera tipped over into the softened butter. It got all over the buttons! I  licked it off. I'm not sure it was the best idea, but hey, it worked.

6:40~They notice the lack of meatballs.

7:00~We're out of milk, so I run (in my car of course) to the store and back in about 3 1/2 minutes. Not bad. I hate milk. Did you know that?

7:20~Do some more clean up after dinner. Eat more noodles from the colander dipped in sauce.

7:40~Finally take off my shoes & put on my jammies & slippers. Ahhhhh.

7:49~Question WTH is wrong with Blogger. Since the 'image uploads' will be disabled for 2 hours-decide they know its messed up & might actually fix it!

8:00~Gather laundry & get the kids ready to get ready for bed. Its a process. A slow one.

8:30~Make the rounds-letting them know its time to get in bed. Its lights out at 9.

8:40~Do some more research for a trip Brian & I may take.

9:10~Final good nights. Argue with BabyGirl about some Halloween show that's on. (Why do the networks do that to parents?!) I give in & set her sleep timer for 20 minutes. I know. But I'm kind of tired at this point. Bubba is hiding in D's room while D plays some video game. Get him downstairs & tucked in too. Finally get to go downstairs to watch the new Criminal Minds with Brian (with a glass of wine).

9:20~Commercial break (I actually just paused it) to throw in a load of laundry. Its a good one, lots of little things so I feel like I'm washing more. The giant laundry monster is getting smaller!

10:05~Show's over. Brian talks to his mom on the phone. I write for a little bit. Thoughts, things to get done, stuff like that.

10:30~Hey, blogger images should be fixed-I'll check! No, not so fixed in Google Chrome. Maybe it works better in Firefox. Open that browser & surprise, surprise, it starts installing an update. With all the freakin' updates-you would think it would suck less. You would be wrong. Now I have it open in both browsers-somehow I think that may be bad. Close Google Chrome. Yes, Firefox works, but still kind of slowly. Whatever, its good enough for me for now.

10:44~Kind of dragging ass. The wine may have been not a great idea in retrospect. Bed time is in sight. Flip the laundry & start a new load. Think about Mr. Bumpy the whole time I'm doing laundry. Think I might have to buy the whole Bump in the Night series. Then they suggest Tales from the Crypt too! Oh, Amazon, how well you know me!

11:00~Find D sleeping on the couch. Wake him & tell him to go to his own bed. We do this almost every night. My couch is not holding up well from the stress.

11:02~I can hear Brian prepping the coffee maker for the morning. That thought makes me very happy.

11:09~Finish this post & head to bed. I may read for a bit, but I'm pretty tired, so not for long, I'm sure.

So that's my day! Exciting I know! I didn't hold back & I didn't lie about the fact that I didn't eat all that well today. All my emotions are in my stomach, so while some people eat when they're upset, I stop all together. But I did make up for it at dinner, as usual. I'm painfully aware of the fact that I used the word 'realize' very often. I'm sorry for that. But it works, ya know. Good night! Tomorrow, we'll do it all again!
