Green Factory Tour

As I said earlier, Sue and I were meeting up at Crocker Park for the Green Factory Tour this afternoon. We listened to a talk about 'The Sustainable Plate" and I really wish I had taken notes! I honestly don't remember any of the points I wanted to share. BUT Sue & I did get to meet the speaker, Chef Steve Schimoler from Crop Bistro. He's so nice. Sue mostly talked to him, so I'll let her give you the highlights. We plan on having Sunday Supper there next Sunday hopefully. Its sounds amazingly fun! I was busy chatting up the big wigs of Crocker telling them how wonderful it is and how much time I spend there. They told me of some upcoming ideas for the park-it all sounds great! It really is such a cool place to spend time with your family or with 'the girls'. They told me about the new store, Charming Charlie & told me my daughter and I would love it. Can't wait to check it out!
After our schmoozing, I wanted to catch the Amish stand for eggs before the Farmer's Market closed. I was too late-they were sold out. Boo. Its my own fault, I should have gotten there earlier. But never fear, tomorrow's Kamm's Farmers Market should have eggs for me. And my last resort is Nature's Bin, if they're not sold out too. Isn't it funny how you immediately 'need' something when you can't have it. Just another reason I buy my eggs from the little Amish boys in cute hats as often as I can. We realized we were starving, well, I realized I was starving, so we went to Aladdin's for lunch.

I started off with a fresh carrot & apple juice. I added in spinach. Mmmm, refreshing.
We both got salads-I had the falafel, but gave Sue 2 of them-they were big.
And we split a pita pizza. Sue's side has the olives-eww. Don't tell her I said that!

We unfortunately had to leave shortly thereafter. Sue had stuff to do & it had started raining. That's the drawback to Crocker, its all open, so rain kind of ruins things. And standing around in sub-zero temps for Santa pictures ain't too fun, either. But we have months before that!
