I want to clarify my challenge goals-not only do I want to save money, I refuse to settle for lesser quality on most things. I have standards & I try really hard to stick to them. So, let's get down to it, shall we?
My grand total at checkout? $29.87. Yes! But-I didn't buy eggs. I just couldn't put them in my cart. The packaging looked suspiciously like the Hillandale Farms recall packaging. Call me paranoid. Plus, they were conventional eggs & I can't support that industry. BFD isn't until Thursday, so I will stop & get some before then. Moving on.

As you can see I couldn't resist these adorable measuring scoops that have measuring spoons on the end. $.89! You may also have noticed I have kind of a problem with the color lime green.
It seems to be completely possible to feed my family on the cheap without sacrificing quality. I hope to keep it up all winter & see how it goes. Hint: this goes hand in hand with my upcoming announcement.
On to tonight's dinner. One of the things I like best about school starting is the structure. In the summer we're all laid back & all over the place, which I love. But when summer comes to an end, we all come back together into our routine. One of our things is family dinners. We eat dinner together most every night around the table. Now that the kitchen is almost finished, we can get back to the (new) table!
Check out these delicious dishes. Mexican Chicken was tonight's meal.
D's plate.
Mine minus chicken with extra cilantro. SO good.
Have a great night!
