Saturday morning (well early afternoon) I got up and got ready for my friend's wedding shower. It was a 45 minute drive (ugh) so I had to kind of hurry since I slept in a bit. My sister (she's the maid of honor) made my cranberry champagne punch which is quite refreshing, so I sipped on that. I didn't take any pictures! No one else did and I felt weird. So I apologize for that. But we had:
fruit skewers, veggie pizza, cheese & veggie trays, rigatoni, stuffed cabbage, croissants, chicken salad, green bean salad, pasta salad, green salad and LOTS of desserts! It was all really good. I stuffed myself of course. The bride to be made up these awesome tote bags for the bridesmaids. They were filled with stuff for the bachelorette party & the wedding with things like a beach towel, flip flops, a makeup bag & an 'emergency kit' with deodorant, toothbrushes & breath mints-that kind of stuff. They were so cute!
(Get ready, BabyGirl was my photographer & she did a great job!)
Mahi Mahi filets marinating in EVOO, S&P, lemon juice
rolling limes to juice into the cabbage
cabbage with EVOO, lime juice, S&P & red onions
For the cilantro lime cream, cilantro
more lime juice
& the miracle that is non-fat greek yogurt
I may have also added a packet of TrueLime
. It totally made the whole thing.
In the fridge to marry.
tortillas on the grill-see it to the right? I swear Brian does smile!

And me in action!
Brian made fries on the grill
to go with their giant hunk of meat (ask me how Brian feels today??)
I'm pretty sure mine was WAY better! My BIL & SIL came over late night and we stayed up talking again very late. I won't even tell you the time.
Regardless of my late night, this morning I jumped out of bed to meet Sue at the Kamm's Farmers Market. I got there first and met a really nice guy named Steve. He's one of the coordinators. I chatted with him for a bit until Sue arrived. He knew about our blogger dinner from FourSquare (?) and Twitter. I'm not gonna lie-I was a little freaked out. He said I should check it out. I will, but I'll say this-Twitter is not my thing at all, so that won't happen, but I will check out FourSquare.
Anyway, its a hot one out there-90 degrees! But we suffered through! They also have a band every week & cooking demonstrations. Check out their website for the schedule.

Now, let's talk about this for a minute:
We spent quite awhile at this stand chatting with the owner, John. He was really nice and we learned a lot. Sue & I were amazed by the amazing flavors of his balsamic vinegars. So unique & so good. I think my favorite was the cinnamon pear balsamic. Sue suggested it to be drizzled over ice cream-oh my, yes! Maybe over a wheel of brie? MMM! Sadly, I did not buy that one, I decided to go with a more versatile choice-the 18 year balsamic. It was smooth & delicious-you could drink it from the bottle. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but I can't wait to experiment! Sue's kicking herself for not getting a bottle. But fear not, they are at all the area farmer's markets. Next Saturday, I assume I'll be running into Sue at Crocker!
After a pit-stop for a cold cocktail, we strolled to Jasmine Bakery. I was happy to get back to buy my red lentils!
They have the coolest stuff there!
I have no idea what these are, but I bought them for the kids. Like cookies in frosting? Can't wait to see how they are!

Seeing as how this post is HUGE, I'm gonna cut it off right here. Tonight I have no idea what's for dinner. I would certainly love another fish taco, but I'm out of fish darn it! I guess I could go to the store. We'll how how the night shapes up! Next Food Network Star tonight! I hope your weekend was as great as mine! See ya!
