The Drive-In! Its such a great place to see a movie! It was a perfect night with a light breeze and the temperature was just right.
Its especially great if you can watch in total comfort like us! We put an air mattress in the back of the van and fill it with blankets and pillows.
Side rant: I take a lot of crap for driving a mini-van and ya know what? I don't care. I've test driven a few other vehicles and I can't find anything I like as much. There's 8 feet of space behind the front seats-that's huge! And the best part? Its paid for! So say what you will, but I kind of love that thing and I think it loves me back!
Moving on. The movie was great, I cried like 4 times. I think D liked it too, he obviously did not cry. But I know Brian was a little sad, too.
Saturday morning I woke up a little stuffy. I assume its from air conditioning. I hate being stuffy! I decided to take Stewie for a walk but he hates the heat so we came home after about 10 minutes. So in my brilliance I thought I would go for a bike ride in the 90 degree heat. I got to use my Sherpani bike basket for the first time! Yay! In it-two Sobe Lifewaters, Cliff Bar & my phone. I had lots of room left-that thing is roomy!
The brown flowered part I pulled up to show you-that's the top of the bag that cinches with the drawstring to secure everything so nothing flies out.
See that pink thing on my wrist-its a RoadId. Everyone should have one. Even though I brought my phone, if I get in an accident, this has all the information someone would need to help me. My name, emergency contacts, phone numbers & medical information. I feel better just wearing mine & its really comfortable-you don't even notice it. I highly recommend it to anyone who works out outside alone.
I rode 5 miles with one small break-the heat was intense. The slight breeze from riding helped a little, but not much. I was dripping sweat when I got home which actually felt nice since I've been slacking on working out.
After a shower, we went to my friend's house for some swimming. We ended up staying until about midnight and were exhausted when we got home. We all went to bed immediately.
Sunday morning-Father's Day. Brian was (as usual) up before everyone so he was already down in the family room.
He loved all of his presents. Especially his new guitar-which he's playing here. He's into it!
For dinner, I invited my FIL & MIL over to celebrate Father's Day. I decided to make watermelon feta salad since I've been dying to try it again since the first failure! This one was much better, except I tossed it too soon and the arugula got mushy. The flavors were really good though-I'll make it again.
I also made Brian's favorite, Broccoli & Spaghetti
with yummy, crusty Olive Oil bread I picked up at the grocery store bakery
I even made dessert (kind of). I bought this brownie mix a while ago at Costco.
This is the new drinkable yogurt from Organic Valley. I'll be reviewing them soon! They were very generous to send me coupons to try it-so far its good!
They turned out great-I made 2 packs and they are gone!
PacMan brownie. D took this picture.
I hope your weekend was great! Tomorrow is the first official day of SUMMER I hope to wake up less stuffy & sneezy. I'm off to read a giant pile of magazines-I'm so behind! See you in the A.M.
