Italian sausage, burgers, chicken legs (marinated in French dressing!), ceasar salad, caprese salad, corn on the cob, garlic bread & she even remembered portabella mushrooms for me! Isn't that so nice?
For dessert-watermelon, chocolate cake & strawberry cake. (No pics, sorry) Delicious. I had all the above. I should also mention that my SIL brought me a care package from Hershey Park. I just had my first Reese's dark chocolate peanut butter cup. Oh my. She said she could bring me more. No thank you. I can't have these available all the time-not a good idea! If you find them, you must try them. I already have the whole package hidden. Anyway, we had a really nice time and everyone left about 10. At 10:30 my other SIL & BIL came over and we stayed up until 2:30 AM chatting. Maybe I was drinking, who's to say.
SO, when Saturday morning rolled around, I got out of bed and saw my new InStyle on my nightstand and thought I would go get some coffee and read it in bed for a while. Uh, no. It was time to go the pool! So I quickly showered and was there in no time with my giant to-go cup of coffee. After a bit, Brian came up with lunch fixings for us, so we had a little picnic at the pool. We ended up staying for 5 hours! Even though it was overcast, it was a great time. My BIL's kids were definitely tired out for the long ride home, which was his plan.
Finally, at 6pm I got to sit on my deck with a cold drink & my InStyle! But since I'm nuts-after a short while, I got antsy and wanted to do something. The Art Fair is going on at Crocker Park, but I thought I was gonna go on Sunday, so I couldn't do that. After pacing around for a while, Brian asked if I wanted to go to a movie-yes! So I slapped on some 'pedicure in a bottle" and threw on a dress. I LOVE that stuff!
We had some time before the movie started and I wanted to have some wine on a patio. The only place that had room was 87 West. When we got there, there was a lot of lightening which we all thought was from the heat. We soon realized that a downpour was coming. So the staff helped strategically rearrange the umbrellas so we would stay dry. We ordered some wine & the Artisan Bread and I think we decided at that point to skip the movie.
Right before the rain started, Brian decided to go get the car so it was closer to where we were in case it actually did start downpouring. Then he called-the car was dead. So he called my FIL to come and jump him. (Crocker Park security isn't allowed to do that) So basically I ended up sitting on the patio by myself texting with my sister & drinking my wine in the rain under my umbrella. Fun, right? My FIL came and jumped the car & followed us home. Brian tried it again when we pulled in the driveway & nothing-it was totally dead. I thought we might need a new battery since its the original and my car is a 2001. The kids were all strewn about the furniture in various positions of sleep, so they all got shifted around & I went to bed.
Sunday-This morning I got up and was going to go to the Kamm's Farmer's Market, but I couldn't. Brian was changing the battery. So I lounged about a little & had a little cake & Family Circle magazine with my coffee for breakfast.
After my hero fixed my car, I got ready and headed to Crocker Park for the Art Fair. There was some dancing, I guess.
I was meeting my SIL there after she saw a movie with her friend, so I hung out with another friend for a bit. She was there with her family. The art fest was a lot of fun. There is an artist there every year that I think about-he creates metal sculptures for your yard (or inside your house I guess if you're brave). His stuff is so cool, but pricey. His large sculptures go for at least $1400. I was contemplating something small, but even those are kind of expensive. I'll have to think about it some more-he told me he'll be at the St. John Westshore show the weekend after 4th of July. Seriously, click the link above, his stuff is cool. Well I think so anyway. Another artist I like was this guy. I really like colored blown glass.
So my SIL & her friend had to leave and Brian was going to come there so we could go to a movie, but it wasn't starting for a bit, so I ran through Trader Joe's for a few things & went home to pick him up. I had a quick snack while at home. Does anyone else make weird combos like this? It can't just be me. Maybe it is.
We went back to see Splice. I'm not even sure what to say about it. D said his friend walked out during a 'weird' scene. I guess messed up would be a good way to describe it. I liked it though, it was certainly different. That was the movie my SIL saw today too, so the poor girls didn't even get to talk about it because I was there right after the movie was over!
So now, I realize its 11:15 pm, I am tired & I have no idea what kind of food we have in this house, what I neeed to buy & what we will eat for this week. Menu Plan Monday may be a tad late! But I WILL get it done. Honestly it does make my life a lot easier. I saw lots of fun new items at Trader Joe's. I may have to go back & see what I can get & go from there. I would love to have the Scallop & Corn Chowder this week, so I think I'll have to work it in.
I hope everyone had a great weekend-see you tomorrow!
