Oh, Martha

From Martha Stewarts' Whole Living: How to Be a Healthy Vegetarian

"There's no question that a mainly plant-based diet is better for us and for the planet. But it presents so many herbivore's dilemmas: Am I getting enough protein? Plenty of nutrients? And what do I make for dinner? Here are the strategies, recipes, and cookbooks that will help you eat right."

It annoys me to no end that just because you do not ingest meat that you are automatically deemed as not eating right, or not getting 'enough' nutrients. But a hunk of meat, baked potato dripping in butter & sour cream and MAYBE a veggie on the side is the ideal meal? Bullshit. No one worries about their meat eating friends not getting enough vitamins.
Perpetuating the myth that vegetarians are somehow unhealthy is ridiculous, misinformed and damaging. Now don't get me wrong, I have met people that were 'vegetarian' & actually ate no vegetables, existing solely on junk food-I do not think they are the majority. The article actually does tout the benefits of a vegetarian diet, but I think the title is misleading- and it offends me.

Enough ranting. Brian grilled most of dinner. I bought some good looking tomatoes from Nature's Bin. I didn't know what to do with them, but then I found the tomato basil pine nut cheese I bought at the Farmer's Market. It was a perfect combination.

Grilled asparagus
Everyone's meat
My plate with leftover grilled tuna steak. Then I dumped the cheese & tomato salad on top. It was good!
